“I support Prosperity Catalyst as Siiri Morley, the Executive Director, asked me to. I believe in Siiri’s passion for Prosperity Catalyst, and want to be a part of it.”
Like a lot of people, Paige Snider is still not quite sure what she wants to be when she grows up. But she is sure about her passion: working with groups of like-minded people, economics, girls’ development and education, teaching, using her planning and organizing skills, and having fun. She’s spent most of her adult life mixing those passions into different combinations depending on the opportunities available.
Paige has spent nearly 15 years in the world of international aid — designing and managing projects largely focused on employment generation and Micro Entrepreneurship. During that time she began to teach a graduate class on Micro Enterprise at Columbia University, which was the Most. Fun. Ever! Following a relocation to China, she worked for the Clinton Foundation evaluating their HIV/AIDS programming, and then for the US-China Environmental Law Partnership.
For the past three-plus years she has worked for the State Department in Beijing, covering China’s aid and trade with African nations. In her spare time, Paige leads a Girl Scout troop in Beijing, providing much-needed cultural education about old school punk music to the next generation of leaders. Prosperity Catalyst has been the latest adventure, and a welcome opportunity to be again more directly involved in supporting Micro Entrepreneurship. Paige worked previously with Prosperity Catalyst’s Executive Director Siiri Morley, and jumped at the chance to work with her again, supporting her efforts to build a sustainable organization.
