Dear friends,

I am writing to let you know that at the end of this month I will be stepping down as Executive Director of Prosperity Catalyst.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve our mission by leading Prosperity Catalyst over the last few years. We have built an extraordinary community and have made major strides in building the foundations of long-term business success for vulnerable women around the world. My decision to leave was very difficult but was made easier by knowing what a good place the organization is in.

Since our launch, I have effectively established and led the organization and its mission, expanding it from a bold idea into an organization with operations in Haiti and Iraq. The staff has grown from one unpaid person (me!) to eleven paid staff globally. We have secured funding and support from entities typically reserved for much more established organizations (like the U.S. State Department) increasing revenues from $24,000 to over $1 million in just over one year. Due to this rapid growth, we are at an inflection point which has led to the board and I to explore what the right kind of leadership mix is required for Prosperity Catalyst at this time.

At the same time, I was recently offered and have accepted the role of Executive Director at Strong Women Strong Girls in Boston. After many years working with women internationally, I am excited to apply my talents and passion to work with women and girls locally in Boston. I have decided that it is the right decision at the right time for both me and Prosperity Catalyst as an organization. My departure gives Prosperity Catalyst the opportunity to bring on leadership that is excited to build and scale a maturing organization. And it allows me to spread my wings in a new realm of investing in women and girls. I am delighted to be joining their team. I will be transitioning into this role in November and my last day formally with the Prosperity Catalyst team will be October 31.

I continue to believe in the fabulous potential of Prosperity Catalyst’s mission, programs and team. I will continue to play a role with the organization as Special Advisor. In the interim, Prosperity Catalyst will be led by the Board of Directors and current staff to ensure that the team and programs are supported and poised for success. A Board search committee is leading the charge to recruit a new Executive Director to join the team in 2015.

Thank you for everything that you have done to make our work a success. You have made this labor of love even more meaningful and inspiring. The fact that we have so many dear and devoted members of community to inform about my transition reassures me that our work will continue smoothly. I truly hope that each of you will continue to support our work as our amazing team pushes it forward.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the organization as it has gotten off the ground. It has been an honor and privilege.

In light,

    Siiri,
It is with so much admiration and appreciation that I have watched you launch Prosperity Catalyst and transform an inspired idea to the incredible organization it is today. There are very few people who could have done what you have and even fewer that could have built such a foundation with the heart and talent that are uniquely yours. I am excited for both your next steps and for the growth trajectory upon which you have set Prosperity Catalyst. As its founder, your work has left a mark on the organization and on the women Prosperity Catalyst has and will continue to serve. I look forward to following the new sparks of good work that will result from the foundation you have built. -Brenna
