Our Mission

What We Do

Prosperity Catalyst provides a path to building futures for women in distressed regions like Haiti and Iraq with little financial stability and limited access to resources.

Skills training, 1-on-1 mentoring, and entrepreneurial investment build the foundation for economic security and independence. We create empowering networks for entrepreneurial women to connect with the community and emerge as leaders.

Why We Do It

Women in Haiti and Iraq face limited control over key assets, have few resources, and lack access to community structures. When they have access to profitable skills, education, and shelter they can begin a new cycle of stability creating generational prosperity and resilience.

How We Do It

  • We educate and connect women with economic opportunities across markets. In 2013 we started with handicrafts like candle making, jewelry, and needlework and have since expanded into small farming, tourism, and emerging green jobs.

  • We meet women where they’re at and address barriers to entry so they can fully participate in their new path to economic independence

  • We provide vocational training, financial literacy, marketing and business training through diverse classrooms and hands-on mentoring.

  • We provide seed financial investments to help catalyze women-led businesses in their communities.

  • We form and strengthen local networks advancing the business community, providing leadership opportunities, and fostering more decision-making opportunities.

  • We invest and rely on local staff for programming, with the long-term goal of independent national associations.

Women’s economic empowerment is the key to almost every other good thing – education, health, prosperity for our communities and our planet. I support Prosperity Catalyst because the group’s unique model helps women to acquire the skills to provide for themselves and their families, which has fantastic and long-reaching positive ripple effects.
