Susan Hester is the Managing Partner of Moongate Associates Inc., a firm that specializes in the formulation and analysis of international trade policy and practice. Her policy work in developing countries includes trade, finance, agriculture, ICT, and energy sectors. Susan Hester’s career has encompassed work in the public and private sectors, as well as education and training in more than a dozen countries. She has private sector experience with small, medium, and large enterprises, including competitiveness assessment and training. Her marketing and product development expertise spans both developed and developing economies. Prior to establishing her own firm, Susan worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce as an international economist in the Trade Policy Information Division and as a professor at Cornell University doing research and supervising graduate students on topics in international trade. Susan served as a senior trade economist at a Washington, DC law firm, and as the Enabling Environment Director for a trade project in Ghana for almost five years. Susan lives in Seattle with her husband and loves exploring the great outdoors and the two grandchildren who fill her days with joy and laughter.
