My first couple of weeks with Prosperity Catalyst

By DeeDee Francois, Operations Manager, Haiti office

When I first embarked on this journey on April 24th, I knew I had challenges ahead of me. I just did not know just how much or how big they were going to be. However, I had faith in my co-workers and supervisors. Between running after carpenters to have them correctly re-write the quotes, running errands around town trying to purchase basic supplies and necessities for our new workshop, drafting budgets, skyping (whenever the internet was willing to work), pressuring the landlady to get the repairs done in time for us to move in…oooouff, it’s been, to say the least, CHALLENGING.

But it has all been worth it. The Prosperity Catalyst model has such an important and unique approach. As it is aptly said on one of our top selling candles, “Catalyzing opportunity one woman at a time,” and as I like to say bringing prosperity to Haiti one candle at a time…

As we move along this forever winding road of a start-up business, I am looking forward to even more challenges that lay ahead of us. And most of all, I can’t wait for the recruitment and training to start… WhoooHoooo!

Here’s a look at what is happening behind the scenes in Haiti at our new warehouse/workshop space.
